Vietnam National University, Hanoi, 2012 The book “New Cutting Edge Elementary” is widely used as the popular teaching materials for the non English major students in many foreign language centers; and in our Haiphong Polytechnics College, we have applied this book to teach General English for the first year accounting students at Faculty of Economics since 2008. However, up to now, no research on the course book evaluation has been conducted to recognize its strength and weakness as well as how suitably the course book matched the desired goal of the course. The purpose of this study is to reveal new findings and information about the course book evaluation from the perspectives of the teachers and students at HPPC. Within this regard, the intent of the present study was to assess the course book – NCEE in terms of learner’s demand, objectives, format, content, methodology. The study was divided into three main parts including: Introduction, Development and Conclusion. The views reveal that teachers and students have positive impressions about the course book used in general. However, their conceptions suggest that the teachers should adapt it to meet the needs of the learners in the actual context Electronic Resources |
