However, to the best knowledge of the researcher, Vietnamese EFL young learners do not have high competence of English speaking and listening. This has urged the researcher to carry out the present study. By describing and interpreting the data collected, the researcher managed to identify a number of problems leading to low level of speaking and listening competence of third-grade students, find out the attitudes of the teachers and the students towards the use of stories and drama in teaching English to primary students, and justify the effectiveness of using stories and drama to improve the third-grade students' speaking and listening abilities. The research provided implications for the teaching of English speaking and listening skills to primary students, especially to those at Quan Tru Primary School. With detailed investigations and valid findings, the researcher believes this study is a reliable and useful source of reference for language classes in general and for any Vietnamese EFL learners and teachers who share the same concern Electronic Resources |
