Vietnam National University, Hanoi, 2010 The primary aim of this minor thesis is to investigate the effectiveness of using English traditional songs in teaching pronunciation for high school students in Ha Nam. The author tries to find out whether the use of songs can Giúp to make students’ pronunciation better and how to exploit songs in class. Addionally, the thesis suggests some types of activities, several sources of songs that may be useful for the teaching and learning English. The results and findings of the survey questionnaires show that most of the students enjoy the use of English songs. In addition, the results reveal out that students in experimental expression improved better than those in control one. However, students with low level of English seem not to progress in their study. This limitation may due to the design of the lessons and the selection of songs. Thus, a more careful selection of songs, a better design activities will be needed in futher study. In conclusion, songs can be a good material for the use of teaching pronunciation for high school students with a careful and tacful design of the teacher Electronic Resources |
