Read below about the different options for obtaining the pre-release software, and then use the links on the right to register to order the CD Kit or download product files. Windows XP Professional x64 Edition is designed to address the most demanding needs of technical workstation users who require large amounts of memory and floating point performance in areas such as mechanical design and analysis, digital content creation and scientific and high-performance computing applications.

Important: Windows XP Professional x64 Edition cannot be successfully installed on 64-bit Intel Itanium–based systems.
The CD
The CD is available only in English at this time. Localized versions may be available in other countries/regions at a later date.

Download
If you choose to register to download the software, be aware that you will not receive the product CD. The downloadable product software is available in English only.
When you register to download the product software, Microsoft will send you an e-mail message with download instructions.
After you have completed the download registration process, you will receive an e-mail message with a link to the download page. On the download page, you will see a link to the Setup file and a Product Key for the software you wish to install. The file will be in ISO format and must be burned to a CD before you can càithe software on your computer.
The download files are large (approximately 450 megabytes) so the download may take a considerable time to complete. Microsoft recommends only those with broadband, ADSL or other high-speed Internet connections attempt this download.

This program provides an opportunity to preview the next generation of Windows XP Professional x64 Edition while the product is still under development. This product is intended for testing and evaluation purposes only. It should not be used for production purposes, and should not be placed in a production environment.
